Yellow Leaf Road

Fall has arrived in our neck of the woods over the last couple of weeks.  As much as I love the summer with its swimming pools and shorts and sunscreen, I love Love LOVE fall.  I love watching the leaves change color and fall from the trees and hearing my kids crunch through them when we go for walks.  I love the way the cool air turns their cheeks pink and makes their hair smell.  It seems like there are only a couple of short weeks that we can enjoy the transition before temperatures turn too frigid and snow starts to fly so I try to take advantage of the warmer weather while I can and get the kids out to enjoy the fall colors.  Yesterday was one of those days.  I took Walker and Lillian to the dog park and let them explore the trails and paths to their hearts' content.  They followed the yellow trail of leaves around and around until it was time for Walker to go to playschool.

Morning Visitor

We've had a little visitor nearly every morning over the last week when we've returned home from dropping Emma off at school.  Lillian always has to climb into the front seat to get a closer look at the big rabbit that digs itself a cozy little hole in our flowerbed each morning to keep warm against the cool fall wind...at least that's what I'm assuming is the reason she picks that spot.  Today we were even able to get out of the van and get really close, that is until Lillian squealed and scared her away.  Oh well, we'll watch for her again tomorrow.
