Cooking Lake Cabin

Last Saturday we took a little trip to South Cooking Lake, a little cottage community outside of Sherwood Park, to visit a good friend of ours named Jacques.  It was such a beautiful little place tucked away in the trees and bushes and completely hidden from the main road.  The kids and the dog were in heaven with so much space to run and play and a little old cabin to explore.

The driveway leading to the cabin.

We walked just down the street to a little playground where even Bridgett made a friend.

Then we explored the grassy fields behind the cabins where we found "dandelion heaven" as coined by Emma.

Our sweet but sleepy baby.

For a moment Allan and I dreamt of relaxing in our own sweet little cabin with the smell of the trees and sound of the birds surrounding us... and then the kids started complaining that there was nothing to do and we thought better of it.  However, it was the perfect place for an evening getaway.
